The majority of diseases and illnesses can be treated if discovered early. Early warning is vital to the treatment of many conditions e.g. prostate cancer, the most common male cancer in Ireland.

We offer a comprehensive well man check. This will require a double appointment. One with the Nurse followed by the doctor. You will need extra time for this appointment and you need to state that you require a Well Man check when booking.

On appointment you need to be fasting for at least 14 hours (you can still drink water).We will do blood tests for:

• Diabetes
• Prostate
• Liver and Kidney Function
• Thyroid
• Cholesterol – which is broken down into good fats and bad fats

A urine test is also carried out.

Your height, weight, BMI and blood pressure will all be taken. A discussion on diet, exercise, cholesterol and general methods to reduce heart disease will take place. A full medical examination including testicular, prostrate and rectal examination is carried out.

Total cost for the Well Man Check is €120.
